Maine Poet Laureate to Present New Book at the Library on 10/27!

On Monday, October 27 at 6:30p, please join us at the Waterville Public Library for the launching of Maine Poet Laureate Wesley McNair’s latest poetry collection, The Lost Child, Ozark Poems.

The book represents a new departure for McNair. Long a poet of New England places, he takes a new path, writing about his mother's homeplace in the Ozarks of southern Missouri.

Wesley McNair, called by Philip Levine “one of the great storytellers of contemporary poetry,” has been invited twice to read his poetry at the Library of Congress, among many other honors. At the library event, he will not only read poems from The Lost Child, but explain how the collection evolved and how its poems have influenced him.

This event is free and open to the public. There will be light refreshments. Books will be available for purchase and signing if you would like to own a copy. Cash or check only, please.
