Plant a Seed, Read with our 2026 Summer Reading Program!

Pre-registration opens on June 15th, with the reading challenges opening on June 22nd!

Set your goal. Share it with friends & family. Challenge each other to see who will read the most! There are challenges designed for all ages and abilities!

Sign up  through Beanstack!

  1. Go to:  https://watervillelibrary.beanstack.org/
  2. Create a user account and add reader accounts for each person participating.
  3. Log minutes read to unlock electronic badges!

Our challenges measure minutes spent reading or being read to. Read what you enjoy best: Books, e-books, audio books, magazines or newspapers all count!

Log the number of minutes each time you read (or read to your child). A digital badge is earned every 600 minutes/ 10 hours. Everyone who completes all three reading goals is automatically registered for a grand prize drawing in their age bracket, to be held at the end of the summer.

Don’t have a computer or smart phone for logging into Beanstack? Paper logs will be available.

Keep it kind! Make it fun! Will you be the “top” seed?

1000 Books Before Kindergarten is ongoing!

Parents! If you read at least one book a day to your child from infancy through their toddler years, you will have read to them 1,095 books in three years, thereby setting them up for success when they enter into kindergarten. Part of Waterville Public Library's mission is to come alongside you and provide for your growing family titles, tracking, and rewards for this journey.

It's as easy as downloading the Beanstack app on your mobile device and logging in the books that you read. Earn incentives for every 100 books read!  Sign up at https://watervillelibrary.beanstack.org/ or through the app!
