Resources for Local Needs

Here is a compiled listing of Waterville-area local services that are availible in this time of crisis. It can be hard to sort through the river of information out there, so the Waterville Public Library will do its best to keep this list clean and up-to-date. If you know of any service that we have not listed, email librarian@watervillelibrary.org!

MAY 28, 2020 UPDATE: All of the services below are still active and serving the communitee for the forseeable furture.  Waterville Public Schools has not announced an end date for their student meal program.

SPaRC (Strengthening, Partnering and Reinforcing Community), a group consisting of the Waterville Public Schools and other education partners has links to Waterville-local health, food, and education assistance sources!

Food Services

Waterville Food Bank, 61 Pleasant St., Waterville. Bring proof of residency
Monday – Thursday 9AM -11AM
Monday night 5:30PM – 7PM

- Evening Sandwich Program
Sun – Fri 4PM – 5PM

- Homeless Shelter
Friday afternoons 1PM – 3PM serving food.
Serving about 140 people. 

Alfond Youth & Community Center (AYCC) Feeding Families meal program 

"During these temporary school closings, the AYCC will provide up to 1000 mobile snacks and dinners per day, Monday through Friday at four locations.

"Weekend meal backpacks will also be available at the AYCC location on Thursdays & Fridays. Curbside service available from 4:30pm - 5:30pm at the following locations:

Fairfield: Fairfield Community Center - parking lot
Oakland: Fabian Oil - Parking Lot by Gas Station and Train Tracks
Winslow: Fort Halifax - Front Parking Lot
Waterville: AYCC Parking Lot"

Waterville Public Schools are providing 2 Breakfasts & 2 Lunches, Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays (enough for meals for Monday through Saturday).
Available to all youth ages 18 years old and younger.
Meals are delivered along regular bus routes. Buses will arrive between 9AM and 11AM.

WiFi Availability Info

- A map of the Maine Study-From-Car availibility. The schools and libraries on this map have opened their wifi up to extend to their parking lots, so that students withut internet at home can still complete their online classes. Waterville isn't on the map, that info is still forthcoming.
