Update 9/28/2022, Library To Go Hours extended. All quarantine policies removed. Added note about fines. Adjusted pick-up instructions. Other smaller changes made throughout.
Library To Go is available Monday & Tuesday 10A-6PM, Wednesday through Friday 1-5PM, and Saturday 10AM-NOON. Library To Go is an outside pickup service for borrowing books and movies from the Waterville Public Library. Patrons interested in borrowing materials can place holds now! Library dinosaurs demonstrate how pick-up works in this video! :)
How to place a hold:
Go to https://minerva.maine.edu/ click on “my library account", enter your name and account barcode, search for the item you want, click on the title you want, and click the “request” button in the top left corner.
You can also call 207.872.5433 to get assistance from Library staff with placing holds on books and movies.
Items placed on hold will be available for several business days after the request is made. We will contact you by phone or email when your items are ready for pickup. Once we let you know your items are available, the items will be held for the usual 7 days.
Hold/Checkout limits:
The hold limits will be the same as they have been, a maximum of 15 at a time. Also unchanged, you may have up to 30 items total checked out. Of that 30, 8 can be DVDs and Blu-Rays. 4 of those can be TV seasons, and there is no longer a limit on Blu-Rays.
How to pick up items:
Once we have notified you by email or phone that items you placed on hold are ready for you to pick up, please come to the Library's maine entrance on Appleton Street. Follow the signs, proceed up the ramp, and enter the vestibule as long as no one else is ahead of you. Only ONE patron/family in the vestibule at a time, please. Please keep a 6 foot distance between yourself and others. When your turn in line comes, you will come through the first door into the vestibule. The table will be set up right inside. Please state your name, hold up your library card for scanning or a photo ID for the library staff member to see. We'll get your holds down, check them out to you, and hand them to you through the window, along with any kits or extras you've asked for.
Returns can be placed in the Book Drop slot in the wall to the left of the entrance. Staff will check them in as able. The Waterville Public Library is not charging ANY overdue fees at this time, though charges for lost or damaged materials still apply.
If you’re picking up an order: Please put them in the Book Drop slot in the wall to the left of the Appleton Street entrance befre you enter the vestibule.
If it is after hours: Bring the items right up to the doors and put them in the Book Drop slot.
During operating hours, but ONLY dropping items off: Head up the ramp as you would for picking up an order. Head to the door and put them in the Book Drop slot.
